More than nothing

Within the music business it is common that you borrow other people's song or parts of them etc. and sometimes they destroy the original but sometimes they actually do something good. As usual I'm listening to the radio and they just played Segio Mendez "Mas que nada" (hence the title of this post) with Black Eyed Peas (and making me and my feet very happy). Of course the original is 10 times better than their version, but it is quite good anyway but the best thing about it is that they make people aware of this wonderful song and this kind of music. It is old music that most people (in certain ages at least) never heard before and it is way too good to sink into oblivion! So thank you BEP for chosing such a good song to make yourself sound better than you are! ;-) (it's just not fair to compare BEP with Sergio Mendez) Don't get my wrong, BEP have done several songs that I find kind of or very swinging, "Pump It", "Hey Mama" etc. :-)

Another song that also was played is Hellsongs version of Run to the Hills (Iron Maiden's original). Although this version is not very good, it is slower and much too girly for my taste, a bad ballad. Don't be fooled by the name of the group. So this is an example of a bad version of an old song.
