I think that is a pretty good name for what some do, including me here on INCH and others in others forms than in a blog. It is exactly that, emptying all the extra stuff popping up in the head and then letting others chose whether they'd like to read it or not. It doesn't matter what kind of writing it is, things that nobody cares about, serious things, lyrics etc. It is kind of liberating and if there were more time I would write even more. My stack of things to write about (not the least based on articles) is quite big. On the other hand, I have no plans to stop blogging for quite a while. 
Ahh... it feels good :-) A simple pleasure when other things aren't as pleasant...
