Marsvingsrim

(from a chat with a friend...or maybe it was more like a monologue :-))

I intets poesi du talar som jag.

Men utan mig utan svar.

The realities of the life

A certain Ann wrote this to me:
The realities of the life are morst truliy seen in everyday things and action....nice day to you

My answer was:
I couldn't agree more. I'm of the belief that one ought to see to one's surrounding life and peoples in it before searching answers elsewhere. Although, I'm well aware that I belong to the minority in this world for thinking so. My prof for that you can find here at World Values Survey. I'm nonetheless convinced that many people are too prone to see what they want to see rather than seeing how things are.

Exciting times

I watched the news today and I must say that several interesting things are happening these days. Of course there is the whole Obama thing with eg. decision to close Guantanamo (finally!!), that 6 of the 7 political parties (finally!!) says yes to gay MARRIAGE. Which party that said no is...well, oyou can figure that out by yourself, no matter which country you are from. On the Swedish coin it says "För Sverige i tiden", meaning that Sweden is/should be a modern society and this is definitely a step in the right direction. Another thing is that the fosfor bombs that has been used (at least 20) in Gaza is going to be investigated. Have you seen the wounds that those bombs make? Huge holes in the skin that go bone deep.

Matrix & symbolism

For those who thinks Matrix is just a violent movie:

Mammals, yep

Advanced...everything, isn't that supposed to be human as an opposite to the animals, including communication. Still it seems like the hardest thing, harder than going to the Moon or Mars. Maybe we're not at sophisticated as we tell ourselves. Nah, we're all animals, in one sense or another.

Naked woman in the Catholic church?

Sorry, but who took this photo inside the (Catholic) church? ;-) Either it was a mistake or the photographer got a really good shot. It was a big photo on the front page of the newspaper.

The Golden Rule in eight religions

found here. As an atheist, the one thing I TRY to live by is part of many religions. I don't see why it really has to do with any god, I just think it is a hell of a good think to keep in mind. I see it more as a humanitarian thing than a divine one. No, maybe not even that. It's common sense.

The Universality of the Golden Rule in the World Religions

Confucianism Do not do to others what you would not like yourself. Then there will be no resentment against you, either in the family or in the state.

Hinduism This is the sum of duty; do naught onto others what you would not have them do unto you.

Ok to put a harmed dog to death?

Think a second or two about these questions:

* Do you think that it is wrong to put eg. a dog to death with an injection if it has a disease that can't be cured or if it has been in an accident where it had its spine broken? In both cases there are a lot of pain involved.

* Why?

* Are you religious?

2008 & Amnesty

Maybe I should summarize the year that passed? I'm a bit inspired of a friend who did that. The more I think about it, I realize that it is pretty hard thing to do, in public like this at least. On the outside I guess that there are not that big of a difference, for example I still don't have a new job that I can feel satisfied with, but considering the more personal things both this and that has happened.

Moments:
* a sister (not mine!) who told lies and made a mess of several relationships (I sure wonder what she was thinking about)
* good byes (although I wonder how good they tend to be)
* a few new friends
* insights

There is one thing though that has become even more evident this year and that is my involvement in Amnesty. I have become group secretary for my group, member of the board for the part of Sweden that I live in, traveled to Stockholm for a budget meeting, different courses, seminars, camps, ran around at a couple of concerts talking to hundreds of strangers, gotten to know a whole bunch of new people from all of Sweden and all the different levels of the Swedish organization. Went to a workshop about how to become a better leader, but that one was held in Malmö. Up next is a course held in Stockholm in the beginning of February about multitude, how Amnesty works to get a better multitude within the organization, methods how to do it at a locoal level and how to create and lead groups with great multitude. During October I spent 12 days working for Amnesty. Too bad I don't get paid ;-) It's all worth it because I love it. I know that many people might not understand that but that's not my problem. They don't know what they are missing out on.

Promedac, my old school

I studied in this school for about a year ten years ago. Oh, well, I studied some, mostly math. I had all sorts of times there, good, bad, fun, boring ones and to be honest some which to me seemed a bit odd/American. American influences to that extent IS odd considering it was a Mexican school in Mexico with Mexican students and teachers :-) I have a lot of memories from this time... I am glad that I now have the possibility to reconnect to some of the people there, including my old host siblings :-)

DO THE EVOLUTION, BAAABYYY!

by Pearl Jam. I might have put this song here before but it is well worth looking/listening to. This is one of the energizing songs but unfortunately also pissing-Natasja-off (it is a reminder, hence the frustration and anger). I refuse to even consider the thought of this even being a subjective matter. It's a fact, whether you like it or not. This is as objective as anything ever will be.

It's up to you if you want to support those who strive for more of this (as shown in the video) or not. If you want to be PART of it. Keep track of the Swedish media and you'll see what the different parties think and what they DECIDE to do and don't give that crap about how difficult it is to know who to vote for. I'll give you one single question below, of course it is not enough to see all the questions that are important but it is a pretty telling one.

I'll just ask you a question at a 1st grade level: Fact 1. Cars (most of them) are bad for the environment. Fact 2. Trains are not bad for the environment. Where do you think that the most of the money for transport should be put, on cars or trains to help preventing the fact that there is a environmental catastrophe?

I'll say no more...

Woo..
Im ahead, Im a man
Im the first mammal to wear pants, yeah
Im at peace with my lust
I can kill cause in God I trust, yeah
Its evolution, baby

Im at piece, Im the man
Buying stocks on the day of the crash
On the loose, Im a truck
All the rolling hills, Ill flatten em out, yeah
Its herd behavior, uh huh
Its evolution, baby

Admire me, admire my home
Admire my song, heres my coat
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
This land is mine, this land is free
Ill do what I want but irresponsibly
Its evolution, baby

Im a thief, Im a liar
Theres my church, I sing in the choir:
(hallelujah hallelujah)

Admire me, admire my home
Admire my song, admire my clothes
cause we know, appetite for a nightly feast
Those ignorant indians got nothin on me
Nothin, why?
Because, its evolution, baby!

I am ahead, I am advanced
I am the first mammal to make plans, yeah
I crawled the earth, but now Im higher
Twenty-ten, watch it go to fire
Its evolution, baby (2x)
Do the evolution
Come on, come on, come on

Freedom of religion according to Stellan Skarsgård

One of the most famous Swedish actors Stellan Skarsgård who can be seen in Mamma Mia, Pirates of the Caribbean, King Arthur, Ronin, Amistad, Good Will Hunting, Deep Blue Sea, Exorcist and Dogville just to mention a handful. He will also appear in four more movies during 2009. This is what he has to say about freedom of religion in Sweden:

If we have freedom of religion, we also have to give the children freedom to choose. If they at home learn that they will burn in Hell if they don't pray to God, then they should at least meet an alternative in school."

Stellan Skarsgård about extreme sects which are allowed to run private schools in Sweden
