Intelligent children becomes vegetarians

I find this interesting. Quite a few of my friends, mainly Amnesty friends, are vegetarians and it is hard to deny that they are intelligent. I wonder if I could almost put myself in that category considering that I mainly eat vegetarian food and even try a little to replace the dairy products to some small extent ;-) Although, the pasta with tomato/pork/bacon dish M ate the other night at the nice restaurant was just so tasty (I just had a couple of bites and then continues with my pasta/pesto/zucchini), but usually it isn't even that good.

Nope, in general it is of course not worth it from any aspect. There is no way for anyone to ever defend eating meat, especially not the amount most Westerners do. Claiming that people's right to eat meat and affecting the world (people and climate, ok, pretty much the same thing when it comes down to business) is based on that it is so tasty with meat and "we've always done it" is plain stupid and I really mean that. It's like saying that "men have always beaten up women, therefore it is right" or "the bible says it's wrong, therefore it is wrong". Strange how smoking and meat eating can rob people so profoundly from their logic thinking and empathy. Two letter: me me me.

Or as Einstein said: Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe.

If it doesn't have this, you're eating BAD FISH!

Can I make it any clearer? Fish with this symbol on it is ok, the rest is most probably close to extinction and/or fished in a environmentally unsustainable manner. If you still don't know why you should chose this, ask yourself if you would ever eat giant pandas if someone served you or pulverized tiger penis. If yes, eat on the close to extinct fish, if not, why on earth would there be any difference between you and the people who kill giant pandas? A crime which by the way is one way to get the death penalty for in China.

Laughing business

I've heard/read somewhere that girls/women laughs more than boys/men do. I don't really know why but I have a feeling that it might have something to do with socialisation, as so many other things. As a former friend always used to say (and probably still does); "anyhows"... I laugh quite a lot and at things that many don't seem to find amusing enough to actually laugh so I am very "girlie" I guess. There are a few(!) people that really can make me laugh when they write to me. Every now and then I laugh so much that my belly muscles hurts because of the contractions the laughing causes.

What caused writing this blog post today of all days is talking about Turkey, milk, deserts and bad spelling (none of the subjects having to do with each other). Btw, I already knew about Turkey (K-Å told me).

...och förresten, jag bugar och bockar (eller niger om det är att föredra)... tack!

Do you have any idea how much this tickles?! Totto (parents little parrot) found it very interesting to pull, gently bite and play with the piercings.

My Darling, part II

This what Wikipedia has to say about the Doberman's temperament which give some background to why they are seen as they are (my own italics):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doberman

"The Doberman is often used as a protection dog, due to its intelligence, loyalty, and ability to physically challenge human aggressors. Dobermans are even now, and once more extensively, used in police work and in the military. The breed was used extensively by the U.S. Marines in World War II/.../ In these roles, they inspire fear. They are often stereotyped in such roles in movies (where they are trained to exhibit seemingly "aggressive" behavior), and video games, consequently many people are afraid of the breed. A related problem is the misunderstanding of their legitimate roles; because guard dogs are trained to neutralize unwelcome intruders, many people mistakenly believe that Dobermans are vicious.

However, Dobermans are, in general, a gentle, loyal, loving, and highly intelligent breed. Although there is variation in temperament, a typical pet Doberman attacks only if it believes that it, its property, or its family are in danger. According to a study done by the U. S. Centers for Disease Control, the Doberman is involved in human dog bite-related incidents less frequently than many other dog breeds. Those familiar with the breed consider well-bred and properly socialized Dobermans to be excellent pets and companions, suitable for families with other dog breeds, excellent with young children, and even
cats. Dobermans are often called "Velcro"* dogs because of their desire to be constantly in the presence of their human companions."

The allergy is still here and so is my desire to one day have this kind dog again. About cats. We had a cat during one period and when she ran away, Cheri got very, very sad and howled after her, in vain. My final words are that a dog is what you make it to be and if you only can handle it, a Doberman can be a very good dog. Don't be deterred of it's strong and intense appearance.
