Food for my eyes

I love the fact that Blogger now offers a whole range of different background pictures to use but that also leads to a lot of indecisiveness when it comes to actually picking one. There are a lot of beautiful ones but they should also suit me. To be honest, how well would a light blue summer sky with some flowers in the foreground suit me? Or what about the cute yellow chicks, or the pale pinkish flowers in a cool pattern etc? Then there is the simple background with not much movement and/or colors versus those which are just that. As you can see, I picked a colorful one with a little more saturated colors and not to mention the fact that they are in my favorite scale, bluegreenish. Compare it to choosing a cake. Would you choose the plain, tiny, beige cake even if you know it is more healthy for you rather than the big brownie with the thick layer of chocolate glazing and cream on the side that actually makes you enjoy eating a cake?

It's past 3.30 am by now and I am finally giving up for the compelling sleep. It leaves no time for changing the text colors etc. but I'll get to that, eventually. Who knows, I might not even keep this specific background. So, what do you think about it?

This post might seem labeled in a odd way. This is not art, this is a blog but this post is about colors, design and the feelings they create.

A sand story

This is absolutely beautiful, touching and sad! I recommend you all to see all of it, preferably with the sound on. The woman is amazing!

World Press Photo

I am a photo freak sometimes, I take loads of pictures. "Practice makes perfect", right? I have to practice even if it usually is moment pictures, so I do. One of the gifts I have had most use of in a long time. I wouldn't mind get this good one day ;-) So if you want to see some unbelievable photos, take many looks at these photos! One word: WOW
Here is another one, from the past...

There is one thing though. Some/many of these photos are taken during circumstances that I prefere never have to see for myself. There is a saying, that a picture says more than a thousand words...

Colourholic

Colourholic, can you be that? I am. Colours are like candy but for the eyes and I just can't get enough. Those who know me, know in what specific little way I like to wear strong colours... Unfortunately I am not good myself at creating but I really enjoy other peoples art. This is from an artist I stumbled upon just now, Barbara Bonvin. She has made quite different things of which some I don't like but some things I really like. My favorites are the ones in Entre deux mondes and Des monts intérieurs, especially this one called Variation intime. This actually reminds me of a very old painting of Maria Luisa that showed boats. I love different shades of turquoise...

Creative work

"Any creative work must be appreciated even if opinions differ" Very true! Appreciated yes, but maybe not always shown, depending on what it is... Some creative work that DEFINITELY should be shown to the world is what you find here. Even shown in the big apple... :

The best art ever :-D

One of my favorites:
