Can I make it any clearer? Fish with this symbol on it is ok, the rest is most probably close to extinction and/or fished in a environmentally unsustainable manner. If you still don't know why you should chose this, ask yourself if you would ever eat giant pandas if someone served you or pulverized tiger penis. If yes, eat on the close to extinct fish, if not, why on earth would there be any difference between you and the people who kill giant pandas? A crime which by the way is one way to get the death penalty for in China.

Compliments

People are so different when it comes to giving others compliments. Some think something and say it to the person it's about and others never say a word. Either they have nothing positive to say or they just don't say it of some other reason. I like giving people compliments, if I think there is something to mention, partly because it's appreciated and partly because I'm usually not able to keep it in anyway. Maybe the person who said that it some countries it seems to be so much easier for people, men as well as women, to give each ofther compliments is right. Maybe it is a little easier for people from another background to feel free and confident enough to do it. What do I know...

I just fell in love!

...in this song. Some have called me stuff because I don't like certain type of music, music that in my ears feel noisy but I don't care, either music speak to me or it doesn't. This song and the music to it is soo simple and at the same time so powerful. It's speaking to me. If I had been at a dance place and this song was played in the dark room, loudly playing, pounding in my ears, full of people around me that I couldn't care less about, I'd go crazy. Not on the outside but on the inside.

European Social Forum - Another world is possible

They don't match very well, obviously. I have been quite busy volunteering for Amnesty at the European Social Forum (ESF) which was placed in Malmö this time from Thursday to Sunday. It was a lot of fun and I met quite a few new people and maybe even made myself a friend. It was some time ago since I had so much fun.

One of the things we did was laying on the stomach on the ground, wearing a very orange overalls with forhead getting gravel marks and having a guy stepping on our backsides. With the orange overall you should be able to guess what the action was about... Another thing I did was getting tortured by my beloved dad...och some other people I know. It was a bit odd to have people you know try to "break" you but it was an interesting experience to try the torture tent. The three people on the left came all the way from the International Secretariat in London. Very nice people.

...and that is correct. I've taught my friend to never buy Chiquita stuff for a few hundred reasons.

Lecture

That is what I am spending my time with at the moment, preparing for a lecture, parallel with job searching. Even if speaking in front of a group I don't know isn't my favorite thing to do, it is a lot more fun than writing job applications. It's about something I know, the death penalty, both in general and in some countries. I hope o be able to teach the young and new people who'll be there usefull information and the tools to meet people who think they know so much based on their feelings so that they'll feel more secure. Now I have to figure out how to do a detail in the Power Point presentation.

Who are your friends?

I am currently thinking about friends in various aspects but the one I will mention here now is background, educational. To be honest, most of my friends have an education, is working on it or planning to get one in the future (ok, one person) and it's ages ago since I had friends that are actually interested a little in the same area as I am. Most of them have eg. technical interests and hardly politics and human rights. I HAVE had those kind of people around me before but they're just not here any more. I miss them, of course not only because of their interests but because they challenged me and stimulated me in so many ways and most important of all, they were simply very good friends. It really isn't easy to get friends that actually stay friends with you, no matter where they live or what might they might be busy with, who don't "forget" about you, get "better" things to do or have others reasons I don't feel like mentioning. Hmm...ok, this changed into one of the other aspects of friendship.

I'm not the person the lyrics speaks of but I feel the pressure from some people sometimes that I ought to be. That "it's useless" to try to change things and that I pretty much should just accept that people and society etc. Having visions and willing to work for it (not the same as expecting it to be so) are by some just seen as weird and a waste of time. I can't stop wondering though, if at least some of these people really think so or if they just want to cover up their own lack of visions and interests? I will never know.

Chinese refusual

This is what happened to the almost 20 000 signatures against the Chinese government's way of handling the Olympics when it came to human rights. The Chinese embassy refused to receive the signatures etc. that Amnesty had worked all summer to gather, including me. It is a very odd behaviour, just as the general secretary of Amnesty says, Lise Bergh, since embassies are supposed to enhance positive connection to the country they're in.

Lies are hurtful

I spent the weekend in Eskilstuna (1 hour outside Stockholm) and Stockholm, celebrating a one year old little boy (his birthday, congrats Elijah!) and playing with my best friend laugh machine and in the capital I attended a death penalty course. I have also tried to clear out a missunderstanding that a person who has never met me or know nothing about me caused (accusing me of the weirdest things), at the expense of her own brother (and my friend). Hopefully the people involved have understod that I am not a problem to them because that would make me very sad! My friends are important to me and I am keen on keeping them whatever problem might arise and I just want them to be happy. Good friends don't grow on trees!
